ITV STUDIOS Global Entertainment Triumphs In Shanghai

The 15th Shanghai Television Festival held on June 8th highlighted the strength of ITV Global’s catalogue with winners in two categories. We are proud to announce:
The 39 Steps, a fast-paced adventure movie event based on the world famous novel by John Buchan, and the pre-school animated series about the captivating adventures of Pocoyo, were both awarded Magnolia Awards.
The 39 Steps won a Magnolia Award for Best Director &
Pocoyo won an Animation Silver Award described as: "Excellent story combined with excellent production value. A joy to watch, satisfying & entertaining”.
The Magnolia Award concentrates on first-class international television productions. The aim is to increase communication and cultural exchange, to facilitate cooperation, and to develop a mutually beneficial strategy to accelerate the booming development of the TV industry.
Since 1986, the Shanghai Television Festival has been held once every two months (biennially), with the approval from the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Shanghai. It is an international competition with the theme of peace, friendship, communication and cooperation. It aims to deepen the understanding among countries, strengthen the friendship and promote the development of TV art.

Fast-paced adventure movie event based on the world famous novel by John Buchan, and starring Rupert Penry-Jones (Spooks; Casanova) as sophisticated and dashing hero Richard Hannay, a man with an inquisitive mind and a miraculous habit of getting himself out of sticky situations. Set on the eve of World War One, Hannay has returned to London from South Africa to begin a new life, when he becomes embroiled in an undercover German plot to steal British plans for the outbreak of war. As the clock starts ticking, can Hannay outrun the police and German spies to protect Britain? Written by Andy Yerkes (Bear In The Big Blue House), with the English version narrated by Stephen Fry (Gosford Park; Kingdom), the series uses CGI and XSI to create a unique, tactile and visually stunning look.
